EDGE
EDGE (Enhancing Disabled People’s Greatness and Employability) is a new Erasmus+ project funded by the European Union. This 3-year project started in September 2018 and it supports young people who have intellectual and relational disabilities (ID). Unemployment rates within this group are more than twice as high as the general population and therefore the project works to foster their inclusion within the labour market and society.
The partnership will do this through three main strategies; developing the employability skills of individuals with ID to prepare them for the workforce, encouraging employers to proactively hire this group and create an inclusive work environment, and promoting self-employment pathways for people with ID.
