The EUMentorSTEM Virtual Hub is available now!

Can highly skilled migrant women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) find suitable employment opportunities in the European Union? The Erasmus Plus project EUMentorSTEM has developed a virtual HUB to be used free of charge to support highly skilled migrant women in the process of finding suitable work. The virtual HUB also contains useful resources for Trainers and guidance professionals who need strategies and tools to support the labour market inclusion of a such specific group.

In 2018 and 2019 the project partners of EUMentorSTEM have developed EUMentoring, a mentoring programme for migrant women in STEM and have tested it in parallel in five countries: Italy, Greece, Hungary, the UK and Sweden. The aim of the programme was to support these highly educated women in their journey to find employment or progress in their careers. The materials we have used are now available in the HUB for everyone.

The Virtual Hub assists migrant women with STEM-studies and/or job experience to develop transversal skills and competences in order to fulfil their potential in European labour markets. At the same time, the Hub offers tools and a group work methodology based on mentoring and coaching strategies that help professionals (e.g. career advisors, educators, social workers, HR staff) in supporting migrant women to develop their skills and competences to succeed in a STEM-job in Europe.

It is a hub for EUMentorSTEM learning and training materials. The Trainer’s Kit and Learner’s Kit are both available in 5 different languages (English, Swedish, Italian, Greek, Hungarian), so individuals and organisations can autonomously organise the trainings or be inspired by them.

Anyone can create an account for the Virtual Hub, so they can have access to all the available materials. Once you visit the Virtual Hub,  you can create an account by pressing Log in. On the next screen there is a “CREATE NEW ACCOUNT” button which directs the new users to a screen where they should provide the requested information and then follow the instructions of the received email.
